Pain Community

Immersive Design & Corporate ID Design
The Pain Community is a non-profit organization that engages patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and researchers to improve access to effective pain management. Through comprehensive pain care, people can regain a life with pain at a higher level of wellness. TPC houses research resources from respected experts in the field of pain.
The second company is PainCommunity. The PainCommunity is an initiative of the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. This non-profit organization is involved in treating and helping people with chronic pain symptoms. The PainCommunity wanted us to develop a new corporate ID and find a way to educate people about the purpose of the PainCommunity. The most important thing for an unknown organization is a landmark. For this, I designed a logo with my team. We ultimately opted for this way of design because it radiates care and trust. The two hands represent professionals and doctors who reach out to people with chronic pain together.
In addition to the new logo, there was also a need to consider how to draw attention to the organization. That is why we have designed a VR installation that is guaranteed to attract attention at fairs and exhibitions.
This VR installation was called: The Time Has Come! In this VR game, you are exposed to different patients with different wishes from professionals for their personal chronic pain complaints. You will see different trees with other colored apples. These apples represent different professionals. You have to put together the ideal combination of professionals for each patient. Through this project, we wanted to make people aware of the fact that each person's complaints require a different approach and needs.
This journey was documented in a "making of" video project:
