Kidiyo

Concept design, User Interface Design, App Design

At Kidiyo they want to help give children the best beginning of their lives and a way to reach their full potential. Children learn and develop better when they're having fun. This develops cognitive, social and emotional skills. The use of technology in combination with real adventures stimulates the development of children in a fun and inspiring way.

The first company where I was allowed to work on an assignment is Kidiyo. Kidiyo is a company that develops a digital application for children from 0 to 6 years old that helps with education and social development. This app encourages children to seek interaction between peers and the world around them.

The current menu system was outdated, too complicated and not kid-friendly. Their question was whether we could help design an app lay-out that was simpler, more stimulating and more child-friendly. I solved this together with my team by creating the 3D world of Kidiyo. A spinning globe lay-out that offered children a chance to channel their inner explorer. We didn't wan't the children to become too engrossed in the app, reducing the link to the world around them. This was solved with the implementation of real-life videos into the app in which children could learn different games to play outside.
